Swing Kong Dance Orchestra is a newly established 1930s style big band based in Brno, Czech Republic, which aims to play 1930s style swing music with authentic sound, steady dancing rhythm and stirring arrangements that will excite both traditional jazz lovers (that we are) as well as Lindy hoppers and other swing dancers (that we are, too). Amongst our greatest influencers are the orchestras of Jimmie Lunceford, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Chick Webb, Cab Calloway, Gene Krupa, Lionel Hampton, Harry James, and many more, from the era of 1930s and early 1940s - the era when the Lindy hop was born. Last but not least, don't you think we look great in our custom tailored suits on the stage? You simply must see us live!

Swing Kong Dance Orchestra je nedávno vzniklý big band, který svým vzezřením, zvukem dobových nástrojů, frázováním i rytmem jakož i výběrem repertoáru dokáže dokonale navodit atmosféru harlemských tančíren, kde se zrodil Lindy hop. Čistokrevný taneční swing přelomu 30. a 40. let, inspirovaný velikány jako Benny Goodman, Jimmie Lunceford, Artie Shaw, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Chick Webb, Cab Calloway a dalšími, vás zaručeně zvedne ze židle. Hrajeme dobře známé skladby z tohoto období v originálních i vlastních aranžích i pár vlastních skladeb v dobovém stylu. Orchestr je vytvořen výhradně ze zkušených muzikantů, z nichž více než polovina jsou aktivními Lindy hoppery, které potkáte i na parketu.

• We will come anywhere 🙂
• We play for dancers, listeners as well as spectators
• We can swing all night long
• We cooperate closely with swing dancers, we can arrange dance performances, a taster dance class as well as full-fledged daylong swing dance workshop
• If there's not enough space for the orchestra, we can offer a small combo (different repertoire, smaller sound, but still 30s style swing)
• Technical conditions: see stage plan, further conditions are subject to agreement, contact us

• Máme swingový program i na celý večer
• Úzce spolupracujeme se swingovými tanečníky, můžeme zajistit taneční vystoupení, ochutnávkovou taneční lekci i plnohodnotný celodenní taneční workshop
• Pokud není dost prostoru pro orchestr, můžeme nabídnout i menší sestavu (jiný repertoár, komornější zvuk, ale stále taneční swing ve stylu 30. let)
